The national pride of the ecosystem of Uzbekistan Ugam-Chatkal National Park was established in 1990 on the basis of Chatkal Biosphere Reserve. Since 2017, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The area of the park is 668350 ha.
Chatkal National Park is not only mountain forests and steppes, it is also alpine meadows, high-altitude glaciers and climbing trails.
The protected area of the park is closed for tourists to visit, but there is also an area for educational tourism – it was created for exploring local attractions, hiking trails leading to valleys, rocky areas and mountain peaks.
