Dolon Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 3.030m (9,940ft) above the sea level, located in the Naryn Province of Kyrgyzstan. The road over the pass is mostly asphalted with some short gravel sections. It’s called A365 (European route E125) and links Bishkek and Torugart. It connects the Issyk Kul and Naryn Provinces. The road is pretty challenging for drivers because the ascent up the pass is steep and the following descent is even steeper. Crossing the pass is rather complicated. There are many excellent photo opportunities here. Don’t forget your camera! On the summit there are wonderful views of the valley, the majestic mountain ranges of the Tien Shan glaciers and ice caps. At the pass, not far from the road, there is a meteorological station.
